Agnostic Awakening: My Spiritual Journey with a Witch

So why a blog and more importantly, why you may want to read this blog? Well, let me tell you…

After walking away from organized religion as a teen and again as a 40-something adult, I became solidly agnostic. While I knew I didn’t believe in ‘religion’, I knew beyond a doubt that our bodies, the ecosystem, the universe, and just about everything out there was way too complex not to have intelligent design somewhere in our creation story. As I researched mythologies, the occult, and maybe a dash of UFOs, I came to the realization that I was agnostic. Then I met a genuine old-world born into the craft witch.

Kristi and I met in Texas as I was in the middle of a divorce. I fully intended to NEVER give anyone my heart again.  She was an 8-year widow after her husband of 27 years was killed in an accident.  She too was never getting married again. We met, then we both said ‘Oh, sh!t…’. We knew we belonged together. We didn’t know how difficult it would become for us to be together, facing various obstacles.  We persevered and eventually moved from Dallas to Farmville, VA, where we founded our store, Mystik Raven.

Over the last four years, I have come to see that Kristi is indeed the real deal. I’ve witnessed things firsthand that have swayed me and opened my eyes to many possibilities. Many of these possibilities I’d never considered prior. I even married her in 2023 and believe it to be the best decision I’ve ever made. Since I married a witch and became open to spiritual growth, I started trying to find my path. This proved to be a herculean effort for someone like me.

For you astrology buffs, I am a true Capricorn: driven, a planner, a hard-loving man, and thus a monumental over-thinker. In my humble opinion, the biggest obstacle one can face in pursuing a spiritual awakening is being an over-thinker. It’s taken 3 years to gain control over my mind, learn to find peace and balance, and be receptive to the messages that help guide my destiny.

This blog is about this ongoing journey. Here, I will share experiences and techniques that worked and didn’t work for me. Also, I want to give those just starting their spiritual awakening a chance to know they are not alone. I will always do my best to find the answers to your questions, which will often have many possible answers.
